| Abstract(in English) | The new coronavirus has forced the common use of telework and it appears that telecommunication environment in Japan has evolved rapidly. However, these are only realizations of a technologies that were researched 30 years ago. In the near future, when the psychological barriers to telecommunication are lowered and communication environments such as 5G and 6G are available, there is a high possibility that various technologies that have been at the research level will be put to use. On the other hand, as more and more people begin to use telecommunications, we are beginning to see how people are adapting to the technology and what they cannot adapt to. For example, it is often said that the advantage of video conferencing is that a participant can see the other participants’ faces. However, when we attend a teleconference, we find that a camera is often turned off and mostly use screen-sharing features. Anecdotally, it is also said that many workers are suffered from Zoom fatigue due to the daily pressures of teleconferencing. By contrasting the current situation and the accumulation of telecommunication research, I would like to discuss how technologies should support information sharing and discuss the future direction of the telecommunication research. |
