Abstract(in English) Air-coupled ultrasonic transducer using local vibration of thin front plate of 1-3 ceramic-air composite was proposed to improve transmission efficiency. We designed and fabricated the transducers with the uniform vibration and the local vibration of the front plate, and demonstrated the possibility of the effectiveness of the large-amplitude local vibration.
