Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many efforts are being made to train cognitive functions through training. Daily and long-term training is effective for maintaining and improving continuous cognitive function, and improving mood and motivation during training is one of the important issues. We have proposed a task form that uses the phenomenon of emotional contagion that conveys the emotions and moods of others in order to improve mood and motivation for cognitive training and tasks. It is expected that the training will be fun and motivated by the task that incorporates positive facial expressions such as smiles. In this study, we experienced a cognitive training task incorporating two emotional facial expression stimuli, happiness and anger, and investigated the effect of emotional contagion on the cognitive training task. We compared whether the subjective emotions and motivations, the facial expressions of the subjects during the task, and the heartbeat were different depending on the emotional expression of the presented stimuli. The results showed that the evaluation of mood and motivation was higher under the condition that present happiness stimulus than the condition that present anger stimulus. This shows that emotional contagion can improve mood and motivation in cognitive tasks using emotional facial expression.
