| Abstract(in English) | Several studies have shown that touch can communicate emotions accurately. However, the role of touch in the multisensory communication of emotions has not yet been clear. Here, we investigated the multisensory interaction between touch and voice. In Experiment 1, we focused on the situation in which the emotions were congruent between touch and voice, and examined whether emotions could be perceived accurately by adding touch to voice. In Experiment 2, we focused on the situation in which the emotions were incongruent and examined how the decoder judged the emotion when the encoder presented emotions in both touch and voice. Finally, we discuss the role of touch in multisensory perception of emotions. |
