A Study on Dynamic Spectrum Sharing by Database for White Space Utilization

Abstract(in English) Dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) has been paid attention as a promising scheme to meet increasing demand of radio spectrum due to widely deployment of wireless communication systems. In this report, performance of DSS using spectrum database is evaluated under the condition of having secondary users with different priority. DSS over the unutilized frequency band at digital terrestrial television broadcasting is considered. The number of successful registrations to the spectrum database and the computation time to decide the availability of spectrum sharing have been evaluated with considering two types of propagation model: the free-space path loss model and two-ray model. Simulation results show that the choice of propagation model makes great impact to the number of registration as available secondary users.
