Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Via a multimodal analysis, this study sought to examine the differences in child-mother interactions among preschool children with ASD ? particularly when the mother applied concepts of “Humanitude” to interactions with her child. A single-case study was chosen to observe child-mother communication during free-play ? allowing for comparison between pre- and post-intervention. The results of this study show an increase in the number of child-mother social interaction with touching (a form of interactive communication) after intervention. The child showed greater multimodal initiation in their social interactions post-intervention when compared to that of pre-intervention; furthermore, the mother also displayed multimodal responses to her child’s post-intervention actions.
