A Study of IF Leakage on Reception of New 4K/8K Satellite Broadcasting

Abstract(in English) The intermediate frequency of the received signal on a home wiring of the new 4K/8K satellite broadcasting system using left circularly polarization overlaps the spectrum of wireless LAN in the 2.4 GHz band. Therefore, this impact has been in publicity, and several actions such as announcement of recommended practice to avoid such leakage have been taken. On the other hand, since the antenna terminals on the interior walls are usually left as open ends, we built a reception facility in a house to evaluate the amount of leakage from these terminals, and measured the degree of influence on the wireless LAN from the antenna terminals. As a result, it was found that the use of an antenna adapter to connect a portable TV or other device to the indoor wall antenna terminal may affect the wireless LAN.
