Abstract(in English) The transmission characteristics of a long period fiber grating (LPFG) change due to various external factors. LPFG manufactured by periodically shaving the fiber side surface with a CO2 laser changes the transmission characteristics due to stress concentration at the thinner part when bending or tension is applied, and the way stress is applied also differs depending on the bending direction to the cut part. This time, we experimentally examined the transmission characteristics changes due to these external force.
