Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Current blood glucose measurement requires invasive blood sampling from a patient. To reduce the patient's burden, we propose non-invasive blood glucose monitoring based on electromagnetic response (e.g., bioimpedance). Firstly, the electrical properties of blood phantom were evaluated as a function of glucose concentration at frequencies ranging from 1 kHz to 120 MHz. Secondly, bioimpedance variation caused by the change of blood glucose was estimated using a multi-layered wrist model. Thirdly, from simultaneous measurement of the blood glucose level and bioimpedance of the subjects, we confirmed a strong correlation between both of them. Finally, we derived an estimation formula of blood glucose based on bioimpedance. By error grid analysis, the formula was found to be clinically useful. |
