Environmental Cognition by Auditory Information Using Plane Recognition

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an environmental cognition system based on plane recognition as an auxiliary system for visually impaired person. The plane information is acquired using a sensor attached to the user’s head, and the inclination and distance of the plane are converted to plane information by focusing on the normal vector. The plane information is converted to auditory information by modulating the sine wave. The effectiveness of the proposed system is shown from the results of simulation experiments using a virtual environment model and usability studies.
