Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To achieve further effective spectrum utilization in wireless communication, TVWS (TV White Spaces)-based communication system is one of the promising approaches because of the excellent propagation characteristics. IEEE 802.22, which was standardized as a WRAN (Wireless Regional Area Network) communication system operating in TVWS, is expected to support a cost-effective wireless communication system in rural areas. For the receiver algorithm development of IEEE 802.22, multipath fading is one of the dominant factors to be considered. However, existing multipath fading channel models applicable to wide area communication have some generalization and statistical limitations. Therefore, an algorithm to extract a statistical channel model from the field experiment data is required. In this study, we develop a channel modeling algorithm based on the S-V (Saleh-Valenzuela) model. The proposed channel modeling algorithm applies a dynamic GEV (Generalized Extreme Value) distribution fitting to the amplitude fluctuation instead of the conventional log-normal distribution. To validate the algorithm, channel model parameters are extracted from the experiment result with an FE (Fading Emulator). As a result, by applying the proposed algorithm, multipath fading characteristics measured in the experiment can be reproduced by simulation with highly fitness of rms delay spread distribution and BER characteristics.
