Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Currently, the demand on large capacity satellite communications is continuously rising to disperse the geographical digital divide and to serve a stable communication at the terrestrial disasters. As one of the methods to realize the demand, multi-satellite multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission communication using low earth orbit (LEO) satellites has been studied. In the LEO satellite system, the service area of each satellite is constantly moving, and to deploy the full time service, many satellites are required. However, when the number of LEO satellites increases, there are many problems in terms of cost, space debris, and collision between satellites, Therefore, to realize the reduction of LEO satellites while providing a large capacity satellite communication system, we propose a LEO and geostationary orbit MIMO (LEO-GEO MIMO) transmission system. We show the higher throughput performance with a small number of LEO satellites than that of conventional scheme by numerical simulations. |
