Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Multi-user MIMO multiplexing coordinated with spatial diversity is a promising technique to improve the transmission quality and the link capacity. In this paper, user-wise maximal-ratio based joint transmit-receive diversity (user-wise MRJTRD) at both base station (BS) and the user sides is introduced to zero-focing (ZF)-based multi-user MIMO. Assuming spatial-multiplexing of U users, each equipped with N antennas, by a base station (BS) equipped with M antennas, multi-user MIMO channel matrix of size is transformed into a multi-user virtual MIMO channel matrix of much smaller size . We derive general expressions for the ZF matrix, the transmit power normalization factor, and the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the downlink and uplink transmissions. Then, we derive a closed-form expression for the achievable SNR conditioned on the U=2-user virtual MIMO channel. Assuming a case of U=N=2 and arbitrary M, the downlink and uplink capacities are numerically evaluated by Monte-Carlo simulation in a Rayleigh fading environment to compare the user-wise MRJTRD and the user-wise maximal-ratio based transmitting and combining diversity (which employs the spatial diversity only at the user side and is called user-wise MRTCD).
