Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we implement a dynamic task assignment that flexibly uses both multi-access edge computing (MEC) and cloud servers depending on the situation of the MEC environment for a multi-user information-sharing application. In the proposed method, all tasks processed by this application are classified into tasks that require real-time performance and tasks that do not require real-time performance, and real-time tasks are classified into high-priority tasks and low-priority tasks. In this task assignment, for low-priority tasks that require real-time performance, the processing location of the task is dynamically determined among the MEC server and the cloud server. This dynamic task assignment is implemented in an MEC server and an application. The MEC server decides the processing location of the low-priority task and notifies the terminal of the determined processing location. In the application, on the other hand, the processing location of the low-priority task is changed based on the information of the notified processing location. We evaluate the performance of the dynamic task assignment by conducting experiments with an application and a server implementing the task assignment. The experimental results show that the dynamic task assignment can appropriately determine the processing location of low priority tasks and reduce the processing delay of the tasks. |
