Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have evaluated the conditions in terms of the number of TCP connections to obtain the highest total throughput on an IEEE 802.11g network. In our evaluation, the direction of data flow and TCP versions, CUBIC, Compound, and NewReno are taken into account. However, intermittent data transfers, which are typically observed on requests and their responses of HTTP for Web accesses, have been out of scope. In this report, we evaluate and discuss the influence of response times required by segmented file download processes on the throughput in a wireless LAN. As a result, comparing with the saturated flow which always holds data in the sending buffer, the segmented file download processes require more number of flows to saturate the bandwidth and yield better fairness among concurrent flows.
