| Abstract(in English) | O-RAN Alliance was founded in 2018 by major global operators in aim to construct more extensible, open and intelligent radio access networks in the 5G era. Many operators and vendors have joined since then, and study on interoperable interfaces, virtualization, AI / big data utilization, whitebox hardware and open source software for radio access networks are being performed in workgroups, where many specifications have been published. In this presentation, we introduce the background to the founding of O-RAN Alliance, its vision, scope of study and status of each workgroups, and NTT DOCOMO’s related activities. |
