Abstract(in English) | In this paper we first present definitions of effective dimensions for Riemann manifolds and psychophysical spaces. Then we proposed algorithms for estimating the high dimensional Riemann metric tensor and dimension reduction in low dimensional subspaces. These algorithms are applied to the facial expressions space which is a psychophysical space or a Riemann space where the metric tensor is defined by the JND(Just-Noticeable-Difference) discrimination thresholds at every point in the space. Up to now the effective dimension of this space is considered to be very high. We obtain the Riemann metric tensor of the high dimensional facial expression space from the psychophysical measurements of JND data and then determine the upper and lower bounds of the effective dimension of the facial expression space. |
