Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Ultra-dense radio access network (RAN) consisting of a large number of distributed antennas can improve the coverage and the capacity of 5G advanced systems. We have been studying the autonomous distributed radio resource management for ultra-dense RAN. If the same system bandwidth is reused by all base stations (BSs), the severe inter-cell interference is produced, thereby reducing the link capacity. In this paper, we propose an autonomous distributed inter-cell interference coordination which combines the fractional frequency reuse (FFR) with segregation algorithm. Users in a serving cell area are classified into a cell-edge group and an inner-cell group. The system bandwidth is divided into several fractional bands. Cell-edge group users measure the instantaneous received interference power of each fractional band periodically and reports it to the BS. Then, the BS assigns the fractional band having the lowest average interference power to the cell-edge group users so as to avoid the severe inter-cell interference. We evaluate by computer simulation the effectiveness of our proposed autonomous distributed radio resource management.
