Analysis of polarization mechanism of chiral perovskites using nonlinear optical measurement

Abstract(in English) Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are attractive materials for low-cost and high efficiency solar cells, but the photovoltaic conversion mechanism has not been completely clarified. In addition, it has been revealed by recent studies that the photocurrent can be controlled by introducing chiral organic cations into perovskite crystals. Hence, it is of importance to understand the polarization mechanism in chiral perovskites from a viewpoint of photovoltaic conversion principles. This study is aimed at clarifying the polarization mechanism of chiral perovskites by using nonlinear optical measurements, in which the polarization and chirality can be sensitively detected. Here, we report optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) generated from chiral perovskite thin films, to discuss the correlation with the crystallinity and film morphology.
