Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Self-organizing maps(SOM) is a simple algorithm, and has excellent clustering capabilities. However, since SOM performs neighborhood learning based on the similarity with the best matching unit, nodes that belongs to same class are scattered on the competitive layer and affects around nodes. Therefore, nodes on boundaries between classes becomes unclear. In this study, we define the degree of belonging to each class on the competitive layer from attribute information, and use as weights to the learning rate in neighborhood learning of SOM. This aims to reduce scattered nodes on the competitive layer and improve classification accuracy. And the proposal method can label on competing layers from accumulated attribute information. In the experiment, we used a dataset of handwritten digits to evaluate the degree of scattered classes and the classification accuracy.
