Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The arc duration time ta and the arc energy Ea when a magnetic flux was applied to the electrical contact were measured. The effect of the magnetic blow-out was confirmed from the experimental results. The experimental conditions were as follows: the power supply voltage was DC100V, and the closing current Io was varied in the range of 0.5 to 30A. Electrical contact materials were tungsten (W) and silver (Ag). The magnetic flux density was set to 0 mT, 5 mT, and 10 mT, and the opening speed of the electrical contact was set to 25 mm/s, 50 mm/s, and 100 mm/s. As a result, ta was short when the magnetic flux was applied, while it was significantly long without the magnetic flux. However, it was confirmed that ta when the magnetic flux was applied becomes longer when Io is small. Therefore, it was presumed that the effect of magnetic blowing was reduced when the current was small. Furthermore, when the breaking speed was low, ta became longer
