Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, the Wireless Smart Ubiquitous Network Field Area Network (Wi-SUN FAN), which is a wireless communication standard for the Internet of Things (IoT) in outdoor infrastructures, has been attracting attentions. The Wi-SUN FAN adopts the frequency hopping that avoids interference between signals by switching channels. In addition, the multi-hop communication is supported by using the Internet Protocol version 6 Routing Protocol for Low-power and Lossy Networks (RPL), in which each node autonomously selects a parent node and constructs a route. However, when many nodes connect to the same parent node by factors such as node placement and traffic is concentrated on a specific node, it is impossible to avoid the interference by the frequency hopping, so the communication quality deteriorates. In this paper, we evaluate the transmission characteristics of existing Wi-SUN FAN and show that the transmission characteristics deteriorate when traffic is concentrated on a specific node. Next, we propose a route construction method using the limitation of the number of child nodes to improve transmission characteristics by alleviating the traffic concentration. In addition, we evaluate the proposed method and show that limiting the number of child nodes is effective for improving the transmission characteristics.
