Tracking of human with occlusion in thermal images using particle filter

Abstract(in English) One of the factors that makes it difficult to track objects in image processing is the occlusion problem. Especially in the correlation method, the influence of occlusion is considerable. This report addresses the issue of tracking humans based on temperature information using thermal infrared images, and shows that particle filters can help map out hidden people before and after occluded by an obstacle. In thermal infrared image, the Staple tracker, to be used by using the property of a particle filter that collects particles in a set temperature range, is effective for reidentification of a hidden person. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective at tracking completely hidden people.
