Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For developing a support system that interprets the needs of children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities, in this study, for 31 children at special needs school, we took videos of their lives and classes, as well as recorded their expressions and the supporters’ interpretation of their needs. Using motion analysis software (Kinovea), we analyzed motions of children and obtained 138 motion trajectory data. The motion trajectories were classified into six categories. We obtained 105 interpreter's needs interpretation data and classified them into seven categories with similar contents. We examined the relationship between motion trajectory pattern and the interpreter's needs interpretation. Results showed that supporters tended to interpret shuttle trajectory as “affirmation”, repetitive trajectory as “call”, and weak trajectory as “reply”.
