Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In consultative committee for space data system (CCSDS), which standardizes techniques for satellite communications, discussions on the standardization of optical on-off keying (O3K) communication protocols that are expected to be applied into near-earth satellite links and that can transmit Ethernet frames, are currently ongoing. We have proposed a shortened Reed-Solomon product code (RS-PC) based on channel coding scheme on CD/DVD/BD that enables good transmission performance with low decoding complexity for O3K. However, the performance of RS-PC in satellite laser channels was not clarified. In addition, the performance comparison to other codes proposed by foreign space agencies is required. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce the proposed RS-PC and clarify its performances by numerical simulations. It is shown that RS-PC can improve the performance by extending the size of block interleaver in satellite laser channels. Finally, we discuss the role of satellite laser communication in 6G networks.
