Comparison of Differential Evolution and Particle Swarm Optimization on Search Performance

Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to clarify the search performance and characteristics of differential evolution (DE) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). Due to achieve it, the search methods of both, i.e., DE/rand/1, DE/rand/2, DE/best/1, DE/best/2, The PSO, PSOIW, and CPSO, which are observed and analyzed in this paper. Specifically, many computer experiments are carried out to solve four benchmark problems by these search methods. Through the analysis of the obtained experimental data, the search performance and characteristics of them are clarified, respectively.As the obtained conclusion,it is found that DE/best/1 and The PSO have the best search performance. Based on these findings,we believe that it may be an important reference for the development and improvement of DE and PSO technologies in future.
