Estimating emotions from EEG by using multidimensional directed coherence

Abstract(in English) In this study, we investigated an emotion estimation method using EEG. Six kinds of emotions were evoked by facial expressions in 10 subjects. The EEG during that time was analyzed by multidimensional directed coherence to extract the correlation between electrodes and the characteristics of signal flow for each emotion. When emotion estimation was performed based on these features, 83.03 and 19.86% correct answer rates were obtained for the learning data and the test data, respectively. This was higher than the previously reported method using only correlation between electrodes.
