Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is desirable for ALS patients in almost totally locked-in state to answer correctly and stably with a Yes/No communication aid utilizing near-infrared light. Its parameters are combinations of bio-signals (CB), the position of right or left forehead (PF) and time windows (TW). Formerly, these parameters are decided on the day of using the aid. This time, CB and PF are decided after 6 time trials of 10 questions per trial of which the answers are known and TW is decided on the same day of real questions. This proposed method showed accuracy rate 80%, which was 40% formerly.
