Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In our previous report [1], we focused on the channel capability of Massive MIMO and investigated the relationship among various radio wave propagation environments in the case of point-to-point link, that is, single-user transmission. The target transmission method is “Selected Multi-Stream Transmission (SMST)”, which selects several higher-gain eigenmodes from orthogonal streams in the MIMO channel. Propagation environment was taken into consideration Rayleigh fading environment for non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication and Nakagami-Rice fading environment for line-of-sight (LOS) communication, and considered spatial correlation with the base station array. After then, in reports [2] and [3], we expanded the method in [1] and investigated the channel capability of Massive MIMO in point-to-multipoint, that is, multi-user transmission in NLOS and LOS environments. In this report, we reorganize the results in [2] and [3] from the viewpoint of a simple estimation method of channel capacity. In addition, the applicability of the estimation method when the propagation environment is spatially correlated is discussed.
