Visualization of Topics and Their Logical Structure Based on Readers’ Understanding for Editorial Reading Support System

Abstract(in English) In order to understand the claims of the editorials, it is necessary to understand the topics and logical developments described in the editorials. When readers face to the editorials, they firstly understand the meaning of the sentences and grasp their relations. At this time, if the relations between sentences are not correctly grasped, it is difficult to properly understand the appropriate topic and logical development. Reader’s inappropriateness understanding leads to the incorrectly understood of topics and logical developments. If the readers do not understand the topics correctly, several topics may be mixed within one paragraph. If the logical developments are not understood properly, the unnecessary sentences that do not reach to the claim sentences exist. Therefore, this study proposes the editorial reading support system, especially understanding the relations between sentences, by visualizing relation between topics and paragraphs and the logical developments based on the readers understanding. By notifying the inappropriateness based on the visualization, readers are expected to correct their way of understanding the relations between sentences.
