Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Visualization of worker and equipment status in the factory is very important to improve equipment utilization rate. Indoor positioning technology is mandatorily needed to grasp the worker path in the factory because it cannot be expected to use satellite positioning such as Global Positioning System (GPS). Therefore, the authors have developed an integrated positioning system using a 10-axis sensor (3 for acceleration, 3 for angular velocity, 3 for magnetism, 1 for barometric pressure), wireless beacons, and map. This system employs solar-powered Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons as stationary nodes, eliminating the need for power supply and battery replacement. However, this creates a new problem that the reception intervals from BLE become are fluctuated, depending on the illuminance, and therefore this system has put into practical use by time interpolation of received signal strength and application of pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR). As a result of extracting the worker path (time and coordinates) based on the camera image and evaluating the positioning error, the median positioning error (CE50) for a 24-hour measurement time was 2.8 m.
