Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | In-band full-duplex (IBFD) is expected to have higher throughput or spectral efficiency compared to conventional wireless communication schemes. However, as IBFD uses the same frequency band to transmit and receive at the same time, the transmitted signal of a device is received as self-interference (SI) at the same device. In order to realize IBFD systems, SI must be cancelled sufficiently so that the desired signal from the communicating device can be demodulated correctly. In this technical report, we focus on SI cancellation in the digital domain and propose the introduction of transmitter nonlinearities using digital predistortion in order to improve the self-interference cancellation ratio of Hammerstein cancellers and consequently the full-duplex capacity of IBFD systems. Simulation results show that coupling a fifth order Hammerstein canceller with a nonlinearizing predistorter increases the self-interference cancellation ratio and the full-duplex capacity of the system when compared to the case of coupling with a linearizing predistorter or when there is no predistorter. We also show the potential to further increase full-duplex capacity by operating the transmitter at a lower backoff, but at the cost of increasing the nonlinear components of the transmitted signal. |
