Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We conducted an internet survey of approximately 3,000 high school students regarding subjective evaluation in daily life and in relation to future prospects, five-factor personality traits based on the Big Five model, and smartphone dependency trends. The high school students were divided into three groups based on the scores of subjective evaluation in daily life. In addition, they were divided into three groups based on the points of each scale of the Big Five personality test. Further, a two-factor analysis of variance was conducted with subjective evaluation in daily life and personality traits as independent variables and scores from the smartphone dependency trend scale as the dependent variable. As a result, the interaction between “emotional instability” and “trustworthiness” in the Big Five personality test and subjective evaluation in daily life were observed in several subscales of the smartphone dependency trends scale. These results suggest that it is possible that a satisfactory daily life, good future prospects, and individual characteristics such as emotional instability may mutually influence the strength of smartphone dependency trends.
