Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, advanced driving support systems and autonomous driving systems have attracted attention. Ego-localization is one of those key technologies, and it must needs robustness because its error leads directly to accidents. Therefore, I had proposed an ego-localization method based on the epipolar geometry using a visible light camera. However, visible light cameras have large information loss and differences of appearance under difficult environments such as nighttime and backlight. This report presents the results of a basic study on a method for ego-localization with robustness for differences in lighting environment using a far-infrared camera.
