Massive IoT Data Placement Control in Widely Distributed Storages

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a Live Data placement control suitable for a massive amount of Live Data, short lifetime data continuously generated by IoT devices, in widely distributed storages. With the rapid spread of IoT, many users/services expect to shift to Open IoT in which they can share enormous Live Data. The proposed control consists of 2 functions: (1) select storages for caching based on the parameters that make the best use of the characteristics of Live Data, and (2) give higher usefulness score to the data that has only one remaining in the entire widely distributed storages. As a result of costs evaluation based on the assumption that economic costs would occur when Live Data could not be obtained within an allowable time (cold penalty) in the Open IoT, compared with the conventional control, the proposed control could reduce the cold penalty by 45.5% while suppressing the transmission costs to 24.6%.
