Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we focused on effects of finding of emergent phenomena on rule discovery. In the experiment, we used Conway’s Game of Life, which generates high-order phenomena from a fundamental rule. Our research purpose is to revele the effects of attention to emergent phenomena on finding the fundamental rule. Moreover, we discussed relations between recognition of emergent phenomena and rule discovery when the observation data contains noise. Our experiments showed that the participants imagined emergent things, even if there were not any emergent patterns. When observation data contained noise, it was difficult to find the fundamental rule.
