Abstract(in English) Shotcrete is widely used for supporting underground cavities because of its excellent workability. However, in a high place, a scaffold is required for hammer inspection, and thus, efficiency of work has been a problem. Therefore, development of a method capable of performing defect detection from a long distance in a non-contact manner is expected. In this article, we describe an example of detecting defects in the concrete sprayed on the ceiling of an underground cavity by a non-contact acoustic inspection method using acoustic irradiation induced vibration from a long distance of about 25 m.
