Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a cellular communication environment, the required performance of an antenna intended for vehicle installation is usually presented by the antenna gain of vertical polarization, but in an environment near the vehicle body, the horizontal polarization component has a significantly large intensity due to the effect of reflections. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account the polarization characteristics in developing a car-mounted antenna. In this report, we measured the polarization characteristics and XPD (Cross-Polarization Discrimination) for the development of in-vehicle antennas by receiving radio waves of an existing cellular system. As a result, the effect of the antenna installation method on the received power of each polarization and XPD distribution were clarified.
