Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventionally, prediction of tsunami wave height has been carried outby prediction of a fault model estimated from the ground motion. In order to predict tsunami wave height with high accuracy, it is effective to measure the tsunami wave height off the coast. Regarding an airborne altimeter as a method of measuring sea level water levels offshore, applicability to the prediction of mega tsunami based on its measurement accuracy was examined. Compared with the absolute dynamic topography by the satellite altimeter, the measurement accuracy of the airborne altimeter was about 5~cm. This indicates that the airborne altimeter has sufficient accuracy to predict the mega tsunami. In this paper, the investigation situation of the mega-tsunami early warning system using multiple airborne altimeter is introduced.
