Software Development of CubeSat Radio Operating at Single Frequency Band and Examination of Application to Teaching Materials

Abstract(in English) At present, many universities operate CubeSat (micro-satellite), and some research institutes have proposed teaching materials for space human resource development. However, most of the communication systems for teaching materials are virtual ones using the ZigBee standard, etc., and few can experience actual amateur wireless communication. On the other hand, most of the current CubeSats use the 145 MHz band as the uplink frequency and the 430 MHz band as the downlink frequency to perform full-duplex communication. However, CubeSat, which is scheduled to be launched in the future, is required to adopt communication technology in a single frequency band. Therefore, in this research, we have been developing a communication system that performs half-duplex communication in a single frequency band in ”KOSEN-1,” a CubeSat for Jupiter radio observation scheduled to be launchedin 2021. In addition, we discuss how to apply the results as teaching materials for CubeSat communication systemdevelopment.
