| Abstract(in English) | The physical layer standard for Ethernet, the most widespread communication standard for wired LANs, is being developed by the IEEE802.3 working group (WG). This WG develop high-speed standards in the telecom, data center, and in-vehicle fields. In the field of in-vehicle applications, copper wire and optical fiber are competing as media, and many Japanese companies have been named as supporters in formulating optical communication standards. This report describes the outline and background of the standards discussed at the IEEE 802.3 Plenary meeting held in November 2019, especially the automotive Ethernet. |
