Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, since the amount of Internet traffics rapidly increases, it is a very important subject to reduce power consumption of networks. The authors have proposed the adaptive link rate switching method (called the previous method) for power saving of organization networks with OpenFlow, however the method is restricted only for MPTCP communications. This paper introduces the traffic splitting method with meter tables and discusses whether or not the previous method can be provided for protocols other than MPTCP based on the splitting method. The proposed method introduces the traffic splitting method where the meter tables modify the DSCP value in a packet header. Based on the amount of the traffics, the controller switches a link rate and aggregates the traffics on the link. The paper also explains communication experiments to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.
