[Poster Presentation] Detection of lung nodules on CT images by use of YOLO

Abstract(in English) The number of deaths caused by lung cancer in Japan is relatively high for both men and women. Chest CT screening has been becoming more frequent because early detection may reduce the number of cancer deaths if treatment is started before metastasis to other organs occurs. Although chest CT screening is often performed with about 1 mm thickness images for finding early cancers by using low-dose CT, those taken with 5 to 10 mm thickness are still used commonly. We propose a lung nodule detection method using deep learning technology named YOLO (You Only Look Once) v3 for CT images taken with 5 to 10 mm thickness.
