Study on ultrasonic sensing using BOF under CFRP impact

Abstract(in English) When an impact load is applied to a CFRP, AE waves, which are elastic waves of several kHz to 400 kHz, are generated. An ultrasonic wave sensing technique using the Band-pass filter on fiber end (BOF) with optical fiber was demonstrated.To apply this principle, it is possible to detect AE waves in CFRP. In this report, an impact load was applied to the CFRP, and generated AE wave was detected at that time.
