Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The (continuous) multimodal function of continuous variables defined by the authors focuses on the minimum (local) value set defined by the level set, and have been defined as the function such that the number of connected component local minimal(maximal) values set is larger than 1. In this report, we discribe the variable (domain) of univariate function, define isolated local minimum(maximum) or local minimal(maximal) values set from relationship between adjacent points, and define a discrete multimodal function as the number of {em these points (intervals) are larger than 1. Next, we show mathematical structures unimodal region and unimodal width(depth}) around a discrete local minimum. Finally, an application exsamle for time series data with flat region is shown.
