On widening of retroreflective angular characteristics by one-dimensional Van Atta array

Abstract(in English) By one-dimensional 6 element Van Atta array consisting of planar antenna array and feed network, Our group designed the printed board type retroreflector at 2.4 GHz and evaluated radar cross-section.In this paper, in order to make it more effective as a retroreflector, it was shown that 6 dB angular width of monostatic RCS can be expanded from 100? to 140? by widening of individual antenna element.Specifically, wide angle can be achieved by changing the polarization direction of the square MSA. In addition, maximum detection distance of radar was calculated considering scattering of the feed network with two modes which electrical lengths of the lines are different by half wavelength. As a result, it was confirmed that the proposed retroreflector was operating preferentially,and it was shown that the effectiveness can be further enhanced by using these two modes for diversity.
