Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Using a inkjet system, it is possible to generate microdroplets with uniform size, ~ 30 ?m in diameter, and uniform shape. This system is useful for production of microstructures as well as for investigation of micro liquid properties and dynamics. In this work, an experimental example of microstructure generation is shown, in which micro-gel beads were generated in midair and viscosity curves of the suspensions of micro-gel beads were measured with EMS rheometer. With two inkjet system and our microscopic and stroboscopic observation system, two kinds of droplets collide with each other, one is the droplets of aqueous sodium alginate and the other is the droplets of aqueous solution of calcium chloride in this work. For soft gel beads with low concentration of aqueous sodium alginate, the viscosity curve showed similar behavior with human blood.
