Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The bacteria free or the clean against dialysate bacterial contamination is required for the biological quality of hemodialysate solution. In previous study, the authors have reported that heterotrophic bacteria are isolated from metal corrosion parts in bedside console in the dialysate line. In this resent report, we examined a growth activity of the so-called heterotrophic bacteria were isolated in dialysate, and also examined the effect of metal corrosion in its growth activity. As a result, the bacteria were found to be inhibited or decreased in the dialysate. In addition, the effects of metal corrosion on growth and endotoxin (ET) activity in the dialysate, but no difference due to metal corrosion was observed. However, we also observed the bacteria adhered to the surface of metal parts in the dialysate. This suggested the existing of metal corrosion induces biofilm formation.
