Development and Practice of Software to Support Subjects in Lower Grades of Elementary School

Abstract(in English) With the spread of information and communication technology (ICT for short), the use of ICT in course instruction has been required even in elementary schools, and it has been promoted that learning activities appropriately using ICT should be enhanced. The purpose of this research is to develop ICT teaching materials that deepen the students' understanding of the subject. Our previous research reminds us of the importance of association the ICT teaching materials with teaching plans. According to this, to provide practical ICT teaching materials, we developed an ICT teaching material "Katachizukuri" in cooperation with the teachers in local elementary school. Our practice experimental using Katachizukuri shows that students' understanding is significantly improved, and indicates the importance of timely feedback, trial and error, and leading to eureka moments.
