Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Thermoacoustic system is characterized by an external combustion engine with a simple and inexpensive structure, which has the potential to use unused energy such as factory exhaust heat and sunlight at low cost. The present group is studying the coaxial type thermoacoustic system (coaxial type) for miniaturization of the thermoacoustic system. The coaxial type is capable of energy conversion in traveling wave phase with high energy conversion efficiency and considered to be advantageous for miniaturization compared to the loop tube type because of its linear shape. In this report, we investigated resonance control by adding a coaxial prime mover (PM). Confirming the resonance transition to the secondary mode, which was cited as the cause of the decrease in the cooling performance of the coaxial type, and then the PM installation position where the secondary mode can be suppressed based on the observed secondary mode sound pressure distribution Predicted. The installation position of the additional PM was changed and the effect on resonance control was experimentally investigated.
